Where To Travel This Winter

by Oct 21, 2023

It may not feel like it, but Q1 is just around the corner! We really love planning trips this time of year as it provides a unique opportunity to visit the Southern Hemisphere, destinations that are too hot outside of winter, and to avoid the crowds encountered while traveling from June – August. Here’s a bit of inspiration for your December through March travels!

Check out the new Montage Big Sky in Montana. Ski some of the largest runs in the country then take a tour through the snowy landscape of Yellowstone, America’s first National Park. Or consider Deer Valley, Utah which boasts many luxury ski-in/ski-out resorts and a lower elevation than its Colorado counterparts. If skiing isn’t your thing, take the family on a new adventure at a luxury dude ranch in Wyoming, New Mexico, or Montana. Brush Creek Ranch offers a private ski mountain, snowy horseback rides, and unique cuisine experiences. Other lodges offer ice fishing, sleigh rides, and more.

This winter visit Japan’s legendary ski town of Niseko. The immense snowfall and fluffy powder attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. Explore the interconnected ski areas of Grand Hirafu, Annupuri, and Hanazono, and indulge in the region’s famous hot springs to soothe those tired muscles. Check out Japan in the early months of the year to avoid the springtime crowds. Pair this trip with a stop in Tokyo or Kyoto for the thrill of these magical cities.

Mont Blanc is an iconic ski mountain in Chamonix, France where many resorts are set in the foothills of this mountain. A winter vacation in Europe brings other activities like nordic skiing, horseback riding, and the tranquility of a European spa.
