Silversands Grenada: The Most Breathtaking Resort in the Caribbean?

by Feb 6, 2019Destinations, Hotels

Wow. I am on a return flight home reminiscing on three perfect days spent at Silversands Grenada. This just might be the most breathtaking resort in the Caribbean. Read on for more about the destination, and of course… photos!

This hotel is special because…

There hasn’t been a hotel built on Grenada in 25 years – until now. The Silversands Grenada takes luxury to a whole ‘nother level. The most photogenic element of the property is the 300-foot-long infinity pool which stands as the centerpiece of the hotel. The smooth surface of the water stretches from the lobby to the beach and nearly blends in with the ocean. The pool in the spa area is a stunner too.

Speaking of the spa – the Silversands Grenada Spa this is one of the highlights of the resort. The amenities include the typical sauna and steam room, but also an ice room, a lighted experiential shower, and cold bucket shower room. The therapists are highly experienced and many are from Thailand. The massage tables are specially designed for extra comfort.

The hotel rooms on property are fully high-tech, complete with an app to operate the shades, curtains, and thermometer. I recommend rooms in building one and springing for the third level if view is important. Either way – all rooms have a huge patio and full sliding glass doors to transform your space into an indoor/outdoor oasis. Just note that you won’t have a lot of privacy as the rooms look out over the property.

The crown jewels of the Silversands Grenada are it’s four-bedroom beach front villas (and soon to open hillside villas). Each villa has a massive pool and yard, full sized rooms with private baths, and gorgeous common areas. Silversands Grenada has truly knocked it out of the park on the villas.

Silversands Grenada is right for you if…

Other luxury hotels on the island like Calabash Grenada are beautiful, complete with flowering gardens and old Caribbean charm – but if you want something modern with a hip scene, Silversands Grenada is your spot.

It is perfect for couples, groups of friends, or even families with older children. The hotel rooms have a minimum guest age of 12, and while the villas allow all children – I would recommend that families wait to visit until their kiddos can swim. Access to the pools and the beach from the villas is pretty free and of course there are no lifeguards on duty at the villas.

Silversands Grenada is situated right on Grand Anse beach, and there is a lot going on! This is a prime spot to be in the middle of the action and walk down the beach to local hangouts like Umbrella’s Beach Bar.

If you are looking for very family friendly, very quiet, and very private – there may be better choices in the Caribbean for you. The most quiet and private accommodations here are going to be the three bedroom villas which will be set back a bit from the beach and the rest of the resort.

Grenada is worth visiting because…

It will be hard to tear yourself away from the most photogenic resort in the Caribbean, but when you do, there is so much to experience on Grenada! I recommend taking a sail with Danny on one of his traditional wooden Carriacou Sloops. You’ll be able to snorkel the underwater sculpture park and catch a sunset. Danny also does multiple day trips so you could spend a couple days with him sailing down to Tobago Cays and then end head back to the luxury of Silversands Grenada.

There are several gorgeous waterfalls on the island as well as hiking trails – during “rainy” season the island is lush and tropical. Call Burris or Dwayne (just ask at the hotel) and have them take you on a waterfall hunting adventure. If history is more your thing, head up to Fort George for a run down of how Grenada won its independence.

You can also visit a chocolate factory, take a spice tour, or visit the many beach bars. On Friday nights be sure to check out the local fish fry, and in August  catch the local Carnival parties too! The people in Grenada pride themselves on friendliness and how safe their island is for locals and tourists alike. Make sure to take some time to get to know them!

What do you think, is it the most beautiful resort in the Caribbean? I’m here to help you get the most out of your Silversands Grenada booking when you’re ready to go see for yourself. Bell & Bly Travel clients get major perks, like upgrades when available, resort/spa credits, and more. Happy limin’!
