Unique Experiences

French food is a dream from pastries and coffee to oysters and wine but it can be intimidating to try new things in a foreign country. A great way to experience some of these delights is through a food tour in a district that most tourists don’t visit like the 11th or The Marais (see my oyster and champagne feast from La Baron Rouge).

Other than food, Paris abounds in unique experiences for everyone from history buffs to wine lovers. Imagine going behind the scenes at a fashion house or taking a scenic boat ride down the Seine in a private vintage boat. For a total splurge moment, we can even privatize the Louvre for you!

Where To Stay

Last year, I stayed at the Rosewood Hôtel de Crillon in the heart of Paris overlooking the Place de la Concorde. The Hôtel de Crillon is a classical expression of French culture and displays some of the flair of one of its favorite past guests, Marie Antoinette. The bar here is truly spectacular, so make sure to visit even if you don’t stay!

Our other favorite Palace Hotels are Ritz Paris, Le Bristol, and La Reserve. Looking to the Left Bank, we really love hidden gems like Esprit Saint Germain and absolutely adore this area for strolling, shopping, and soaking up the Parisian vibes.

For a special treat outside the city stay at Le Grand Contrôle on the estate of the Palace of Versailles. I was able to explore the property in person after hearing all about it in an episode of Luxury Travel Insider. It is truly magical.
